Avoid summer slide with these summer reading resources! Your reader will be encouraged to engage with the characters and stories they read this summer in creative ways, such making a poster for the book or writing some fan fiction using characters from the book. Find more independent reading activities in our summer fun resources. Why I love this display: I liked to give my students book recommendations and show them that reading is a life-long activity. I happened to read a lot of books that summer (this isn't a normal amount for me-I usually read 5-7 books max). But what I love is that I showed them that it's also great to RE-READ your favorite books.

Welcome to my teacher site. I look forward to another exciting year studying world history as a class of historians. Most communication with students and parents will occur through our Google Classroom sites.
Below is a link to our course expectations that all students receive on the first day of class as well as the summer reading assignment instructions.
Class supplies needed (please feel free to recycle school supplies used in the past)
  • 1 one-inch binder (or room in a larger binder shared with other subjects)
  • 3 tab dividers
  • some loose leaf paper
